About the Church
The congregations of St Mary’s and the Methodist Church within the village have been close for many years, worshipping together in each other's Churches on occasion and sharing in each other's festivals. In 2004 they decided to enter into a formal Church Building Sharing Agreement. Initially it had been thought that the two congregations would retain their separate identities but, as we met and talked, it rapidly became evident that we shared much in common with little to keep us apart. We decided therefore that the two congregations should henceforth worship together as one. Our Services, including Holy Communion, now embrace both Methodist and Anglican forms using alternately the Anglican Book of Common Prayer and Methodist Orders of Service. Both Methodist and Anglican Hymns are used and all Services and other Church activities are open to all. Our vision is truly to be one worshipping body in Christ anticipating the fulfilment of the Covenant between the Church of England and the Methodist Church of Great Britain.
As a result of this our church community has grown and reached out into the community of North Marston and the surrounding area.
